HOW DID YOU GET INTO PHOTOGRAPHY?
I've been working as a graphic designer for 20 years, so I've always been in touch with photography. In 2017 I finally bought my first DSLR camera and I really started to learn to use it. It all came about because of a trip to Iceland. I wanted to be able to take good photos of the Aurora, so I had to have a good camera and know how to use it.
WHICH IS YOUR PERSONAL FAVOURITE PHOTO AND WHY?
It might be the photo of the Aurora in the shape of a curve, hugging Stokksnes and reflecting on the ground. I had to visit Iceland 7 times until the conditions were perfect.
WHICH TIP HAS BROUGHT YOU FORWARD IN PHOTOGRAPHY?
That there are two types of photographers: those who collect images of others and those who create new and fresh photos of a place.
WHICH CAMERA AND LENS DO YOU USE MOST OFTEN?
Until recently I was shooting with the Canon 6D Mark II and the Sigma art 14mm 1.8. A spectacular combination, especially at night, but I'm currently waiting to receive the new Sony A7 IV with the 14mm 1.8 gm, the 24-70 2.8 gm, and the 100-400 gm.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT YOUR HAUKLAND?
It's simply great! All students who accompany me on my photo tours are surprised because there are so many details that make taking photos so much easier. The color is just perfect for creating epic images and the 3 layers make it very easy to regulate your temperature by taking different layers off or putting them on.
DO YOU HAVE A "PHOTO DREAM" OR GOALS FOR THE NEXT MONTHS/YEARS?
I have 3 photographic dreams: The highlands of Iceland, Antarctica, and touring all over China. We are already working hard to prepare 3 photo tours to those places and make them a reality.
